When a statement needs to change, we update the guidance and explain the material correction here.

  • Unexpected softness versus normal flexibility: the soft or sticky foam guide now explicitly distinguishes the normal flexibility of some open-cell foam from persistent tackiness, oiliness, or an unexpected condition. Appearance and touch alone cannot establish cure or mixing ratio.
  • Quantity assumptions: the board-foot calculator makes raw material volume the primary result. Optional scenario allowance begins at 0%; it is not a measured loss rate or product-yield guarantee.
  • Related-publication links: exact-product cards and mirrored ranking positions were removed. Relevant guides now use a disclosed editorial link to our sister publication, Best Spray Foam.
  • Sources and review status: source records were expanded and checked on September 5. Technical guides clearly distinguish editorial source checking from independent technical review, which remains pending.

What makes a useful correction record

Keep the page URL, exact statement, supporting source, document date, and why that evidence applies. For a product claim, include the exact formulation and document version; for a code question, include the jurisdiction and adopted edition. State any relationship to the product or subject.

Review process

We compare the specific claim with the relevant primary evidence. Safety and code concerns receive priority. A material correction updates the page, its modification date, relevant source records, and this log. A correction request cannot replace immediate medical help, manufacturer instructions, or an on-site assessment.
