About Spray Foam Guides
Spray Foam Guides helps homeowners and small construction professionals make assembly, material, safety, and inspection decisions before a purchase or installation.
Our job
We publish U.S.-focused educational guidance for real building assemblies. The core question is not “Which foam is best?” It is “What must be true for this roof, wall, rim joist, crawlspace, or foundation to work safely and durably?”
That leads us to cover air, heat, bulk water, vapor, fire protection, exposure control, mechanical systems, access, repairability, and the points where a project should stop for professional review.
Relationship to Best Spray Foam
Spray Foam Guides and Best Spray Foam are related sister publications under common editorial ownership. Spray Foam Guides owns assembly, education, safety, troubleshooting, and material-comparison intent. Best Spray Foam owns exact-product research, rankings, variants, reviews, and buying decisions.
When a guide reaches a legitimate product-selection step, it may link to the relevant research category on Best Spray Foam. We recommend a format or material class here; exact-product names, rankings, and variant comparisons remain there. The shared ownership is disclosed next to the link. We do not present one publication as an independent third-party endorsement of the other.
Revenue model
The site is built to support future affiliate commissions, limited display advertising, sponsorship, and reader products. At launch, affiliate and display-ad systems are not active. If commercial links are enabled, disclosures will appear next to the recommendation, and commission rate will not determine the editorial choice.
Safety, failure, and emergency-oriented pages do not carry product recommendations or retailer calls to action. A valid result can be “use another material,” “do not DIY,” or “investigate before buying.”
Who writes and reviews the work
Launch content is published by the Spray Foam Guides editorial team and checked against the primary sources shown on each page. We do not use the private planning personas or AI agents as public experts, authors, or reviewers. High-risk and other technical guides show that independent technical review is pending until a qualified, named reviewer completes that work. An editorial source check does not constitute specialist approval.
